Purpose

The Child Therapy Place provides a safe, child-centred space to support emotional wellbeing, development, and relationships. Services are delivered in line with the PBANZ Code of Ethics, and the Privacy Act 2020.

Confidentiality and Limits to Confidentiality

Information shared in therapy is treated with respect and as confidential. Feedback sessions with parents are centered around themes of the session rather than detailed session content.

Confidentiality may be limited and require the therapist to share information with appropriate agencies when:

  • If there is serious concern for the safety of the child or others

  • If there is serious risk of harm, abuse or neglect

  • If disclosure is required to meet the therapist’s duty of care

  • If disclosure is required by a court or legal authority

Privacy & Use of Information

In line with the Privacy Act 2020:

  • Information is collected only for therapy-related purposes

  • Records may include session notes, assessments, and correspondence

  • Information is stored securely (electronically and/ or hardcopy)

  • Records are retained and disposed of according to legal requirements

Clinical supervision:
To ensure safe and ethical practice, the therapist discusses her work in professional supervision. Identifying details are minimised wherever possible.

Appointments & Cancellations

  • 24-hour notice period is required for cancellations

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged

Fees & Payment

Fees will be discussed before therapy begins. Payment is due at the end of each session.

If you have concerns, you are encouraged to raise them directly with the therapist.
